Terms of Service

Last updated: 13 September 2026

1. Acceptance

These terms govern use of the Hermes Personal Assistant application ("the Application"). The Application is operated by a single individual ("the Owner") for their own personal use. By using the Application, the Owner accepts these terms.

2. Nature of the service

The Application is a private, self-hosted personal assistant. It is not a commercial service, is not offered or advertised to the public, does not accept registrations, and has no users other than the Owner.

3. Permitted use

The Application may be used only by the Owner and only to access data belonging to the Owner. Any attempt by another party to access the Application is unauthorised.

4. Google account authorisation

The Application accesses Google services using OAuth 2.0 authorisation granted by the Owner. The Owner may revoke that authorisation at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Use of Google services through the Application remains subject to Google's own terms of service.

5. Automated output

The Application generates output using automated language models. Output may be inaccurate or incomplete and should be reviewed before being relied upon. Actions with external effect — such as sending email or creating calendar events — are performed at the Owner's direction and are the Owner's responsibility.

6. No warranty

The Application is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranty of any kind. There is no guarantee of availability, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, no liability is accepted for any loss or damage arising from use of the Application, including data loss, missed communications, or erroneous automated output.

8. Privacy

Handling of data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

9. Changes and termination

These terms may be updated at any time; the revision date above indicates the most recent change. The Application may be modified or discontinued at any time without notice.

10. Contact

This application has a single user, who is also its operator. Enquiries about these terms can be directed to the contact address published for the application on its Google OAuth consent screen.
